The University of Otago locals programme is a great opportunity for students not living at Halls of Residence. It provides free tutoring and is a good way to meet new people.

UPCOMING EVENTS 2023:Sunday May 7 and Monday May 8: Otago Tertiary Open Days.
29 June 2023: Otago University Information evening June- July most university entrance scholarship applications open August 15 - most university entrance scholarship applications close. August 1 - halls applications open 30 September: university halls application deadline. Massey University advises design students to apply and choose studio courses before 1 October. 10 December: applications for Otago uni close December 16: make the date! STUDYLINK - student loans and allowances applications need to be in before this date. |
When should I be looking/applying?May: start looking at universities, halls, scholarships. Check the GiveMe database and Moneyhub (do this monthly)
June: start prepping brag sheets for references, let Ms Gardiner know which teachers you'd like to contribute to your reference, start researching scholarships and halls and writing your statements/applications. June - August - apply for universities, and scholarships August - September - apply for Universities and halls October - December - apply for Studylink (loans and allowances) Overseas UniversitiesMr Porter is your contact for help with overseas universities
